Lockport colice prevented a potential suicide Saturday night when they talked a man down from the Stevens Street Bridge.
A female caller to police at around 8 p.m. stated that her husband was on the bridge and intended to commit suicide by jumping into the Erie Canal. Police negotiated with the man, described as a 58-year-old Sanborn resident, and eventually coaxed him off the bridge, police said.
