Beat the heat
The shades are drawn
The doors sealed tight
There’s fans in every
Room.
The oven’s off
No lights are lit
I sit here in the gloom
In shorts and tee
That cool and
Breathe
I think that I’m
A winner
Until the urge
Comes over me
To fix a turkey dinner.
