Fatal shooting victim identified as Buffalo man
Buffalo police homicide detectives Monday identified a man shot to death Sunday morning at Carl Street and East Delavan Avenue as Walter Davison, 34, of Buffalo.
The shooting occurred at about 10:30 a.m.
Davison apparently was hit by a shotgun blast from a passing vehicle, according to a police spokesman. He died later in the day in Erie County Medical Center.

West Seneca man, 35, gets prison for drug trafficking
A West Seneca man whom prosecutors said headed a long-running drug-trafficking organization in Buffalo was sentenced Monday to nearly four years in prison.
Carl Korzkowski, 35, who pleaded guilty to marijuana trafficking, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny to 45 months in prison, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr.
Korzkowski distributed significant amounts of Canadian marijuana to a network of customers in the Buffalo area, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael L. McCabe, who handled the case. Korzkowski obtained the marijuana from distribution centers in northern New York.
Korzkowski stored more than 100 pounds of marijuana in his Harlem Road residence.
The FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security and the Buffalo Police Department investigated.
Man, 47, pleads guilty in cocaine possession case
A West Seneca man pleaded guilty Monday to possession of half a kilogram of cocaine with the intent to distribute it.
Vincent Stuchal, 47, faces five to 40 years in federal prison, a $5 million fine, or both when he is sentenced. Federal prosecutors did not release a sentencing date.
Stuchal was charged after federal agents executed a search warrant at the Winchester Grill on Harlem Road in West Seneca in November 2010 and seized more than 500 grams of cocaine, which Stuchal admitted he intended to distribute, Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony M. Bruce said.
Stuchal was arrested in June 2011 along with his wife. Charges are pending against Caroline Stuchal.
Man accused in shooting of 2 exiting limousine bus
A Buffalo man was charged Monday with shooting two other men Sunday morning in the 200 block of Manhattan Avenue.
George Campbell, 23, is accused of shooting of Damone Wiggins and Richard Young about 10:30 a.m. Sunday as the two men got out of a limo bus, Buffalo police said. Campbell was charged with assault, criminal use of a weapon and reckless endangerment. Police said Wiggins, 31, was in stable condition Monday in Erie County Medical Center and Young, 22, was treated in ECMC and released.
Vacant home sustains $25,000 damage in fire
Fire caused $25,000 damage Monday to a vacant house at 55 Edna Place, near Michigan Avenue.
Buffalo firefighters brought the blaze under control in a little over an hour. It was called in shortly before 7:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire to the vacant 2½-story frame structure remains under investigation.
No injures were reported.
Gang member pleads guilty in attempt to kill rivals
A 20-year-old Buffalo man has pleaded guilty in connection with the attempted murder of a rival gang member earlier this year.
Luther Jones pleaded guilty to attempted murder in aid of racketeering before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 30 before Arcara.
Jones, a member of the 10th Street Gang, and others tried to kill two rival gang members during a March 20 drive-by shooting near Trenton Avenue and Hudson Street in Buffalo, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Tripi. Jones is the 15th member or associate to plead guilty in the prosecution of 10th Street Gang members, Tripi noted.
Ex-Citizens Bank manager sentenced in $28,500 theft
A former Citizens Bank manager convicted of stealing $28,500 from his employer was sentenced Monday to three years’ supervised release, including six months’ home detention, and ordered to pay full restitution.
Michael Garcia, 39, whose address was unavailable, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny. Garcia siphoned the money from April 2010 to March 2011, Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti said.
